Ghost Rider 22 FEB 07

Hmm.. I watched the Ghost Rider at Vivocity. Never been there before; that place is HUGE. They had this offer going on: pay $6 for the ticket and you get a drink and popcorn. Pretty cool eh? Honestly, I was confused about the storyline of the movie.. something about 1000 souls on a contract and the Ghost Rider is suppose to hand it over to this devil guy. I don’t know why the devil can’t do it himself. Oh well, I guess after a whole of week of trying to juggle stuff, it’s starting to effect my brain.

The director decided to take the formula used in the movie, Elektra. Get 4 bad guys with totally awesome powers to kill 1 superhero and in this case it’s the Ghost Rider. I must admit I was entertained by the special effects. Thank God for CGI. The burning skull, the shiny, devil-looking chopper, the powers the bad guys have (especially the guy who can control wind. He’s awesome. He said something like, “How can you hurt the wind when you can’t touch it.”)

This movie is not as good as Spiderman, Hulk or Batman but it’s better than Elektra. Heck ANYTHING is better than Elektra. The script is peppered with cliché phrases all over and the ending is disappointing. Eva Mendes, Ghost Rider's love interest is hot but she keeps wearing these clothes with cleavage ALL THE TIME, IN EVERY SCENE, WITHOUT FAIL. I don’t find Nicholas Cage suitable for the role… he looked too goofy to be a Ghost Rider.

This movie is still watchable because of the effects and the fact that it's the only thing good at the theaters at the moment.

If only I can zap those weasels who breached their contract.

Upside:
Great special effects. Cleavage everywhere.

Downside:
No engaging story line. Disappointing ending.
