Actually a reader emailed me
and suggested that I have a special column for all "debatable
topics". That way, readers can have their say on an ongoing
basis. I must say, that's a brilliant idea so Thank You M.J.!
However, when I do write on
stuff like Singapore issues and Gahmen policies, my intention
is NOT to engage in a debate. If I want a debate, I can just
call one of my NTU or NUS friends and debate with them cause
they are very much into politics and like yours truly, they
are very opinionated.
My purpose of writing about
these "sensitive issues" is to state my case and
that is it. PERIOD. Honestly, I do feel good once I have blasted
it out of my system. So if any of my pals ask me about how
screw up our Education System is for example, I would just
tell them to go to my site and read what I wrote and perhaps
by doing that, I can discuss far more important topics with
him/her like what movie to watch today and should I choose
the apple pie or chocolate sundae for dessert later.
And debates itself is so unproductive.
I have seen so many people talk and outtalk each other and
at the end of the day, one guy will have a sore throat and
another have a bruised ego, SO SCREW DEBATE!
HOWEVER, I do want to hear
your point of view. Seriously I do. I want to know why you
agree or disagree with me. And perhaps I will learn a thing
or two.
So what does that mean? That
means, if you want to share your opinion on the subject at
hand just email me with the subject header "Speak Up:
Teenage Sex" for example and I will read it, and post
it on the column. I will respond to some but NOT all so don't
be dissappointed lah. I might draw some cartoons if I happen
to be free on that day :D
I do not post every email sent
to me because of many reasons, such as:-
1) Your email reeks of racism and ignorant shit.
2) You emailed me a one liner.
3) Your arguments are baseless because your mind is clouded
with selfish agendas.
4) You use alot of Supercalafragalistic words till I have
to refer to the dictionary 7 times. Keep it simple and to
the point.
But I'm not that strict lah.
You write okay, I will post:) So hopefully one day, our discussion
will bring some change to our beloved country and may our
children live better lives that us. Agreed? Good! Start writing
and email me! Before that, watch the Youtube video below and
